Light of the World captures an oppressive, surreal atmosphere centered around themes of bodily presence, the gaze, and isolation.
The technical focus of this piece was twofold: transforming flat paper textures into a three-dimensional space, and crafting a harsh, raw flash-photography lighting effect with heavy shadows. One of the key experimental details lies in the texture of the subtly revealing nightgown—it was created by softly laying a microfiber glasses cleaning cloth directly onto the scanner and integrating its soft, tactile capture into the digital collage.
