The Shawshank Redemption (poster)
A concept poster designed for The Shawshank Redemption in an Art Deco style, crafted using digital collage techniques with hand-painted, scanned paper textures created in the workshop.
This project was focused on creating a concept poster for the movie The Shawshank Redemption, with the core objective of evoking an Art Deco atmosphere.
I combined traditional craftsmanship with digital design: in the workshop, I hand-painted and textured various sheets of paper, which were scanned and digitally collaged together to construct the final composition.
The artwork references a key scene from the film, bringing the hammer and the chess piece into focus. The design plays heavily with lighting—the light radiating from the hammer is stronger than the light filtering through the bars, with both light sources converging upon the central chess piece.
